Yahoo Buzz to Be Shut Down on April 21
Yahoo revealed the move on its Yahoo Buzz site. The site will be shut down on April 21. Although it was a hard decision for the company, but it will help Yahoo focus on new innovations as well as core strength.
It was first launched in February 2011. It was regarded as a news way, due to which users could tell what is cool. Later Yahoo Buzz buttons appeared on editorial content outside of network of Yahoo. The main idea was if a person liked a blog post or story, he/she could “Buzz up” it and later one could see a list of the most-Buzzed items.
Yahoo wanted to become a social new aggregator, but failed as Twitter, Facebook and other sites were favored by the marketplace.
It would be right to say that there is always room for three, i.e. the leader, second based as well as the third, which is a niche type of player. Many blame execution of Yahoo. The thing is that many users were not sure what was at the top as it was offered from a Yahoo site.
