Google TV from Logitech Failed
Logitech seems to be unhappy with the introduction of Google TV set-top box as the revenue appears to be much less than expected. It is seventy two percent less and makes up about $5 million in sales for the last quarter. The expected revenue seems to be unreachable as it was supposed to be $18 million.

At first, I do not think that such a rush with launching Google TV was so necessary and Logitech should have also expected some risks. Itself, Google TV represents a combination of the Android OS with Google’s Chrome browser. Besides, not only Logitech was centered on integrating TV into the WEB but Sony and Netflix demonstrated their version of the integration. And, in this case you do not have to pay for extra hardware.
In its turn, Netflix provided customers with the opportunity to watch TV through a browser. The spokesman of Google explained the low revenue of Logitech and stated that it is too early for internet-connected TVs. In future, Google will release another version of Google TV but with integrated Android Market. Thus, the users will be able to use a lot of different application from various developers.
