Google To Launch Google+ For Business Soon
Google engineers are working overtime to get Google+ for business ready for its beta testing. The company will choose among businesses that submitted their intention to join the social network. Selected businesses will be notified and can join in the trial next week.
This announcement came in less than a week after Google said that it wouldn’t have a business version of Google+ ready until later this year. Last week Christian Oestlien, a developer on Google+, said that businesses should not put up profiles for their companies until the social network is ready for them.
The developer also announced that Google will be testing with a small number of brands and businesses to find out how the users will interact with Google+’s Circles and its news stream. Oestlien added that there are thousands of businesses that applied to be part of the test phase.
Google said that businesses that are not part of the test should refrain from making profiles on Google+. Erring company profiles will be pulled down. But despite Google’s requests, business profiles are still showing up on the social network. Ford Motor Company said that it is experimenting on how Google+ will impact its brand. PBS’ popular Sesame Street is also on Google+.
