YouTube Goes 3D
Many social networking and other various social sites are competing among each other to keep up with the latest and keep producing more and more cool features for their users to enjoy. Facebook has just undergone a big change in setup, Twitter is synced to Facebook so that your tweets can go directly to Facebook and update your status as well. Google Plus has just recently started and is already a big hit. And probably one of the most well known and visited sites, Youtube has followed suit as well.
YouTube has been undergoing some changes lately from now lifting the 15 minute time limit on video content for users in good standing, and now enabling people to change their 2D videos to 3D in just one click. When uploading a video, select “Edit Info” then click “3D video” and your video will change from 2D to 3D just that easily.
All of these changes sometimes get negative feedback as users like their accounts to be easy to manage and not change so often. Facebook is a good example of this right now. However some changes, like YouTube’s 3D video feature I would guess is going to be receiving mainly positive feedback from users. As long as they are aware that when watching 3D content on most devices, the 3D glasses are still required to enjoy the full 3D experience. Mainly just the major changes to overall appearance and set up of a site will receive negativity, which explains people’s grievances over Facebook’s new changes. However, a couple small changes that solely benefits the user, like lifting the time limit for content and making 3D available, is only going to increase customer satisfaction and give YouTube a step up from other competition.
