New Holiday Named After Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs recently passed away on October 5th. He was the former CEO of the extremely successful company of Apple, and was known and looked up to by many. He has forever changed the way people think, view, use, and expectations of technology and was a huge contributor to the Apple company and will be remembered by many for years to come for all of his accomplishments. Steve Jobs had a small, private funeral on October 7th, just two days after his passing, however his death affected so many that it is only appropriate that more memorial services will follow even though his actual funeral has already taken place.
This past Sunday a memorial service was held for the recent passing of former Apple company’s CEO Steve Jobs, by the Apple company. This was held at Stanford University on October 16th and the elite of Silicon Valley had been invited to attend the service. In order for the Apple company’s employees to be able to commemorate and be involved in the services after Steve Job’s passing, another memorial service is being held tomorrow, October 19th.
People are also taking other actions in order to further commemorate the late Steve Jobs. For instance, the mayor of California recently announced a new holiday in honor of the passing of Steve Jobs. This day will be a holiday in California and will take place on the 16th of October, the same date that his memorial service was held at Stanford. I am sure that there will be other states that will follow California’s lead as well as other various ways that Steve Jobs will continue to be commemorated and remembered for his effort and success in the Apple company
