Fab.com Growing Twice As Fast As Facebook At 1 Million Members
It may not get to the dizzy heights currently occupied by Facebook, but the growth of Fab.com is dwarfing some of the early growth records set by Facebook when the social networking giant first started out. It’s been less than 12 months since Fabuilus.com a social network aimed at gay men changed course and became Fab.com, a daily deals website for gay men.
In that time, the company has managed to attract over 1 million members in just 5 months—a staggering feat by even the most significant of comparisons, Facebook. Fab has managed to do in 5 months, what Facebook took 10 months to achieve, and we won’t even mention the likes of Twitter, who took 24 months to reach the 1 million members mark.
Aside from a phenomenal growth rate, Fab is also seen a record rate of engagement. The site for some reason seems to be able to convert members into buyers quickly and by the 15th week of membership, each member makes at least one purchase of some kind. This sort of growth and engagement of course attracts attention and aside from VCs who are lining up to fund the company; celebrities have also been lending their support. No less than the fabulous power couple, Ashton and Demi have publicly given their support to Fab.com so the prospects as they say, looks bright.
