Apple Set to Integrate Baidu in iOS Devices – Official from Next Month

Apple is set to integrate Baidu into iOS devices such as iPhone 4S, iPad and more.

A MicGadget report, quoting from SINA News’ website, has reveled that Baidu and Apple have agreed to improve cooperation to integrated Baidu into Apple’s iOS for the Chinese market.

Baidu is the local Google here. While Google is a worldwide search engine, popular in China too, Baidu takes about 80% of the search market in China. Baidu has been a prominent search tool for most of the Chinese market and Apple has taken a good step forward in integrating Baidu better. While the official release of the integration and other details remain unanswered, it is clear that Baidu integration in iOS devices is happening.

The SINA News website reports that the official introduction would probably take place next month.

Baidu held a developers’ conference recently and a lot of insights were shared during the conference. Clearly, the company has identified the mobile market as a leading source for service and marketing. The conference highlighted Baidu’s plans to take their Android focus to the next level.

Google has already been in a contentious state with the Chinese government and there are rumors that the Chinese Government might prevent Google apps to be downloaded in the Android smartphones. These are unfounded ones as yet. However, it looks like a great time for Baidu to be focusing more on smartphones of the Android and iOS platforms.

Apple, on the other hand, has been looking to make a more customized entry into the Chinese market. With Baidu taking the 80% search market in the whole of China, the recent agreement and cooperation would definitely benefit Apple’s Chinese iPhones and iPads.

There are also reports and rumors that say that Apple could be thinking of making specific customizations to not just iOS but also the entire suite of OS X to suit the Chinese market better. Insofar, there have been no large companies other than Microsoft that have tried to create a complete customization suite that is focused on one particular country.
