Badoo Hits 35 Million Monthly Users
UK based social networking site Badoo looks ready to take hold among US users and is announcing a whopping 35 million active users. Overall the dating platform has over 150 million registered users and its recent foray into the US dating market added 8 million new users to its base.
What’s got many excited about Badoo (at least in tech circles) is the fact that many of its new users and those that go on to becoming ‘active’ are being sourced through mobile registrations. Mobile as you may be aware is the in-thing right now for scaling users and engagement among many start-ups and one need look no further than Instagram to see the power mobile.
The company looks set to enter the big leagues too and has added some tech expertise to its executive. Benjamin Ling, a former Google executive is now Badoo’s CEO. This addition and a few others has helped Badoo to establish itself as bona fide dating social network and its really just a matter of time before fresh funding is injected into the company.
When this happens we can expect Badoo to spread its tentacles worldwide. Dating, especially social-dating is a growing market and developing countries like Brazil are hot markets at the moment. Badoo is definitely one to watch.
