A Lot On iPhone 5 Specs – iPhone 5 CPU, RAM, GPU and More

Yesterday was an eventful one. A source working with prototypes of the next-gen iPhone 5 has revealed a lot about the iPhone 5 features – regarding the CPU, RAM and GPU of the smartphone that’s set to be launched anytime late this year or early next year.iPhone 5 CPU, iPhone 5 RAM, GPU and MoreA5 Processor But A Different Version
Apparently, the processor would still be A5.* and not A6. Of course, this is just a rumor as of now and there’s no confirmation available. But the report indicates that the processor is almost same as that of Samsung’s ARM processor. The processor looks to be ARM S5L8950X – the S5L8940X being the one used by Samsung.

The iPhone runs iOS 6, with Darwin Kernel version of 13.0.0.

As regards the A5.* processor, cores and clocks have not been revealed. But there’s quite an expectation that the processor would arrive with a dual-core flavor.

iPhone 5 RAM
We guess, impressed with the performance of the new iPad, Apple would now be happy to introduce a 1 GB RAM for the iPhone 5. After all, the 1GB RAM has become a standard amongst smartphones these days.

9To5Mac also reported that the unit runs 6.0 seed 10A33X with iBoot version iBoot-153x.x.

Queries regarding batter life, processor cores, and possible new apps must wait because the unit being tested wasn’t exactly made for battery-life testing. It was plugged in always.

We had earlier posted about the larger display leak and the schematic that fit in perfectly with the iPhone 5 parts leak. Almost everything seems to be on the right path now. Experts say that at this rate, it could be possible to see an iPhone 5 release date sometime in October this year. Apple has almost established a routine since iPhone 4 for it’s iPhone releases (falling in October).
