18% Of People Would Stop Showering Before Giving Up Their iPhone
Are iPhone lovers that obsessed with their phones? The Boston based trade-in website Gazelle certainly thought so after it conducted a small survey on the importance of a few consumer items.
1,000 were asked to choose between their iPhone and something else. That something else rotated between Facebook, Coffee, Sex or a shower. Less than 1% of respondents said they would give up their iPhone for Facebook, even though iPhones are used predominantly for things like special networking.
The truly shocking comparison though was the revelation that 18% of people would give up a shower rather than ditch their iPhones. 18%! How those people could justify going smelly for the sake of using an iPhone is beyond me but I suppose it speaks volumes of where people are mentally and socially, today.
15% of people would rather not have sex than give up their iPhone and a very small minority (4%) admitted to using their iPhone during sex. One can only guess what that 4% were doing but it shows again that gadgets have more or less invaded all our personal space—with our express consent of course.
Can we blame Apple for apparent bout of madness that is sweeping the nation? I doubt it; the seeds of the technological revolution and eventual invasion of every aspect of our lives were planted long before Steve Jobs came on the scene.
