Etsy Has 15 Million Users
Etsy has carved out a nice niche itself, providing a market for handmade, re-purposed and vintage wares and it’s growing—fast. According to data released by Mbaonline.com, the site is now growing by an estimated 690,000 members each month. The site now has a total of 15 million users and is fast becoming a place for entrepreneurial artists to peddle their wares.
Etsy is becoming an eCommerce powerhouse and many are starting to compare its sales trajectories to that of eBay. Between 2010 and 2011 Etsy’s sales grew by a staggering 71% and today 875,000 shop owners sell an average of 2.9 million items per month.
