MyDeals.com Gets $780,000 In Funding
The daily deals space has had its troubles in recent times but Mydeals.com is hoping to add a breath of fresh air to things. The site is run by Mindwork Labs, a London-based company which is aiming to bring more relevant deals to users who seek discounts and coupons from merchants.
Mindwork Labs has just managed to snag the domain and the plan is to roll out Mydeals.com as a fully functional daily deals website on a global scale. This ambition has been boosted some by the $780,000 that the company raised from venture capitalists.
According to CEO of Mindwork Labs, Tom Packer: “Customers have become fatigued by inboxes full of irrelevant offers. MyDeals.com will give each member more control over the deals they see and the notifications they receive, while learning which offers are most desirable to them.”
Packer believes this greater user-control over deals will enable greater engagement and loyalty. He mentioned also that, “Additionally, the site will detect the member’s geographic location at the country level—with region and city detection to come—so the users can take advantage of offers as they travel without having to visit different websites.”
Whether Mydeals.com becomes a success will be a function of time. Present players Groupon and LivingSocial are having a tough time keeping customers and merchants happy so it will be interesting to see how Mydeals handles the sometimes torrid relationship between the two.
