Song Pop Hits 2 Million Daily Active Users
The way we meet up online is changing every bit as we move along the technology curve and a surprising medium is social gaming. Proof of this can be seen with Facebook game, Song Pop. Launched back in May, the game has grown wildly in popularity and now has a massive 2 million daily active users.
According to CEO Mathieu Nouzareth, the game is getting massive support because of its flagship feature called “simulated synchronous gameplay.” This feature allows users to interact in way that sometimes can lead to flirting—though that wasn’t the intent of the feature to begin with. Even Mark Zuckerberg likes the game and gave it thumbs up with a little post boating about the games addictive qualities.
But perhaps Song Pops most enduring appeal is its commitment to nostalgia. Music is still one of the best ways to get people talking and interacting and most people who play the game do so for the joy being able to go down memory road and find a like-minded person to go on that journey with.
The games integration with most mobile platforms will ensure its growth in months to come and Nouzareth is keen to point out that the company isn’t looking to decline much like popular game “Draw Something.” Song Pop, by all accounts, is here to stay.
