UppSite Raises $2.1 Million In Funding

Online publishers looking to make their websites mobile friendly turn to UppSite.com and it looks like the company has seen quite an upturn in business because VCs are crawling all over it.

The company is announcing a $2.1 million cash injection which it is calling a ‘pre-A-funding round’. This means of course, that UppSite is expecting perhaps a bigger cash injection and so if the paltry $2.1 million is anything to go by, the company lots more money is lined up in the pipeline. Present funders include Israeli based incubator thetime and Matomy Media Group. So far UppSite has raised a total of $2.7 million.

Another milestone that has got people talking about the company is the partnerships and collaboration that it has managed in the last couple of years. One such partnership involved Automattic, the company behind WordPress. This partnership places UppSite in the VIP Featured Partners Program (a sort of high-end section of WordPress).

With more and more publishers and businesses trying to take advantage of the growth in mobile browsing among consumers, companies like UppSite can only grow stronger. Mobile platforms are still in their infancy and in y6he next few years will be able to do more and accommodate a wider set of publishing architecture.

UppSite already has support for HTML5 apps and most native applications for the iPhone, iPad and Android—even Windows Phone is catered for.
