Remember MeeGo? This is the Linux based OS that would have been used by Nokia and Intel as their platform of choice for smartphones before Nokia partnered with Microsoft. The platform isn’t dead however as a new version was just released which is compatible with netbooks and tablets.

Although Firefox 4 was just recently released the company is following a rapid release model program which ensures a fast update of their browser. Firefox 5 promises to deliver better features for people to enjoy however since it is still an initial beta build it is not recommended for production use

Mac users are targeted recently with a malware that would first pose as a legit antivirus warning and would trick the user into installing software. This malware has been infecting Windows machines for years but this would be the first time that a malware of this kind has been written specifically for the Mac. The malware is called Mac Defender, which is fake antivirus software designed to scare people into thinking that their computer has malware and they need a software to disinfect it

Developers are planning to boycott Apple’s in-app purchasing system so that Apple would help them with the patent lawsuits they are facing. Various independent developers received letters that notify them that the use of the in-app purchases violates the United States patent owned by Lodsys. Most of the developers don’t have the resources to defend themselves against the patent lawsuit and they believe that Apple should make a move to protect them
