Facebook announced that it has plugged a hole in their application that provided advertisers and other third parties access to a users account. This is made possible by tokens which serve as spare keys and can be used even if the user is offline. This issue was first discovered by Symantec who immediately informed Facebook about it

PopCap, responsible for hits such as Plants vs. Zombies and Bejeweled, has just acquired startup social game company ZipZapPlay which made Baking Life. This move by PopCap games which is based in Seattle is seen by many as their way to bolster their presence in the Facebook social gaming scene which is dominated by Zynga.
